Memories to be Cherished from QuerQuay …

We found QuerQuay Bolthole through Sawdays, which never disappoints us. Out of all the properties we have stayed in, QuerQuay is now top of the list! We feel privileged to have stayed in part of this unique house. For us it has been the perfect place; comfortable and stylish accommodation, so thoughtfully and artistically presented. as well as a stunning location.

Nothing can prepare you for the view across the river estuary to Dartmouth or the first time the steam train passes the window.

So many memories to be cherished. We have loved it all and cannot wait to return.

Great Location for Exploring the Devon Countryside and Watching the World go by.

“We’ve had a great week staying here at the Bolthole – it’s a great location for exploring the Devon countryside and watching the world go by. Also good fun seeing the train steam past during the day. Will definitely recommend to friends and family as a great place to escape to. For anyone staying we can recommend Bellini’s for cocktails, Taylors for dining and walking the coastal path to Coleton Fishacre.”

QuerQuay Bolthole a Wonderful Place to Watch the World go by.

‘A wonderful place from which to watch the world go by. The apartment is beautifully finished and a very calm space in which to relax. The coming and going of the ferry and the passing of the steam train kept our 6 month old daughter entertained for hours. There is a walk up the estuary to Dittisham through lovely woods and it starts very much on the doorstep if you fancy a bit of exercise!

QuerQuay Bolthole is the Perfect Escape and Views of Red Arrow Displays

‘We have had a wonderful time here, the Bolthole is the perfect escape. The views are just so special, to have breakfast in bed and watch the world go by on the river is a real treat.

Really love all the handmade touches and attention to detail in the house. It is very unique.

The Regatta was a bonus, so much to see around town, it was nice to have a quiet place to retreat to and enjoy the firework displays and Red Arrows from a distance.

Loved reading on the swing seat, glass of wine with the sun setting and watching the train. Thank you Both.’

Sublime Setting Inside and Out

‘A sublime setting inside and out, we stayed at Querquay and experienced one of the most comfortable nights ever, in the Bolthole. To be able to sit and watch the activity on the river and have a glass of wine on the boardwalk watching the sun go down is an experience not to be missed. In such an enchanting place with its gorgeously dressed, extremely spacious accommodation with everything you need – the Bolthole is a little bit of heaven.’

QQ Bolthole – Witness Nature and art flowing seamlessly throughout the Bolthole

‘Having been brought up on a diet of Devon holidays and Enid Blyton adventures (it took a couple of days to notice the secret staircase) I knew that we were going to love QuerQuay as soon as we walked in.
Nature and art flow seamlessly throughout the cottage tumbling onto the veranda, along the wonderful boardwalk into the view beyond.
We never used the car from the moment we arrived as there is so much to do and see from the doorstep..
We enjoyed watching the sun go down over Old Mill Creek and we were treated to the sight of a seal floating on its back enjoying a fish supper.

Loved Every Minute

‘Where to start? We have found a new home. We loved every minute of our time at QuerQuay Bolthole. The views fantastic. The ferry has become a real feature sometimes wondering at very high tide if it was coming right up to our front door. We have waved at every steam train like 10 year olds, enjoyed the food, the pubs, the trips out, the shops, and the car never left the drive. A brilliant week. The touches around the Bolthole are very special,- flowers, art, handmade details.

‘Tips for places to go: The Cherub is fantastic, 1600’s pub, fireplace and real ale, Steam Train to Greenway to Agatha Christies house and gardens – well worth it, boat trip up the Dart. We will be back to our second home in Dartmouth thank you.

Escape to QuerQuay Bolthole for Highlights and Atmosphere

QuerQuay Bolthole has lived up to it’s name this week. It has been a warm and cosy base with all mod cons, including wifi, a great selection of DVD’s, efficient shower, bottle openers and wine glasses all we need to escape temporarily from a hectic life.

The well positioned dining table, basket-chaired sheltered arbour and airy boardwalk, have enabled us to view and photograph river life and the trains whatever the weather.

The complimentary ferry ticket was wonderful, thank you – as we popped back and forth to the other side. M&S food is just across the river.

We’ve enjoyed scallops at the Floating Bridge and excellent fish and chips at the Wheelhouse.

Its been a wonderful stay.

QuerQuay Bolthole – Couldn’t ask for a better place to stay anywhere – perfect!

We’ve had a fabulous week escaping from the big city. Watching life on the river provides endless entertainment – you don’t need the TV! I’ve spent much of the week fascinated by Dartmouth’s role in the build up to D-Day. Seeing pictures of the loading of US troops on the ferry slipway was very evocative. If you want to know more there are plenty of deeds and people at the museum are lovely.

Foodwise you have to visit The Seahorse – one of the best restaurants in the UK – you won’t have better fish anywhere and Spice Bazaar was a real find – superb Indian food – it’s a little bit hidden but well worth it.

Couldn’t ask for a better place to stay anywhere – perfect! We hope to come back soon.
