Catch the Last Rays of Summer

Catch the Last Rays of Summer

We all need continued R&R and what better way than go to the SW where summers last longer, life moves at a slower pace and it still feels holidayish. October at QuerQuay Bolthole is loved by our guests many of whom choose to return in October as their previous experience of the SW climate in October has been just great … like New England in the fall. Leaves are on the turn coating the banks of the Dart with a glorious display of colour.

QuerQuay Bolthole is cosy and warm, many guests in October continue to enjoy sitting on the Boardwalk in sunshine.

Dartmouth Food Festival 23-25 October

Dartmouth’s Food Festival dominates October and is certainly one of the best festivals Dartmouth hosts, with an array of local stalls displaying Best of the West, events and chef demo’s. We love the atmosphere in town at this time of year and the chef demo’s are the highlight. These are fun and very informative, with great tasting opportunities. Chefs are also Best of the West.

A wonderful line up of 2015 chefs .. not to be missed.

Romy Gill of Romy’s Kitchen – Thorbury. Romy brings the magic of local raw ingredients to her Indian meals.

David Jones of Manna Cookery School – Kingswear. Specialising in wood fired ovens – the courses are spectacular and make sure you go home an expert.

Mitch Tonks of the renowned restaurant The Seahorse and cafe’s Rock Fish – Dartmouth. A visit to The Seahorse is a real treat and not to be missed.

Mark Hix of Hix Oyster and Fish House – Smith Field and Lyme Regis. In Lyme Regis sit above the shoreline looking out to sea in an informal setting to eat the most delicious food.
